The current premier of New South Wales in Australia, Chris Minns, assumed office on 28 March 2023. Since then, the Consulate General of Ireland has met with the Premier four times:
Date | Detail |
---|---|
20/07/2023 | Women’s World Cup match and event (Ireland versus Australia) |
30/08/2023 | NSW Parliament Budget 2023 discussion event |
23/10/2023 | NSW Government-International relationships and trade event |
21/11/2023 | European-Australia Business Council event |
In addition to engagements with the Premier, the Consul General has undertaken extensive political engagement including with senior Cabinet Ministers, the President of the Parliamentary Legislative Council and the speaker of the NSW Parliament. This is in addition to engagements between the Consul General and the co-chairs of the Friends of Ireland Parliamentary Group and the Friends of the EU Parliamentary Group respectively.
