480. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if the Department will resume and reinstate the quarterly publications of the milk testing results carried out by the processors; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22623/24]

Following the abolition of the milk quota regime the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine no longer has a function in relation to the testing of milk for constituents like butterfat. This is a commercial matter between the milk purchaser and their supplier. Most milk purchasers have purchasing contracts in place with suppliers which include dispute resolution procedures.

Consequently, I have no plans to reinstate the monitoring programme and publication referred to by the Deputy.
