There are a total of 28 agencies under the aegis of my Department. The Deputy will appreciate that discussions with agencies take place in a range of settings and my officials engage regularly with the heads of agencies and bodies to discuss topical issues as needs arise. While I have not met with the CEO of the Private Security Authority to date in 2024, I am briefed by my officials on issues relating to the operation of these agencies.

Along with my colleague, Minister of State James Browne T.D., I have hosted an annual roundtable event bringing together delegates from the agencies and bodies in the justice sector. Participants include senior management from the Department, Chief Executive Officers, Chairs of Boards/Authorities and senior staff from the agencies/bodies.

This event provides a valuable opportunity to share experiences and consider together new challenges facing the sector. This annual Roundtable is one of the forums developed to encourage interactions, build relationships and inter-agency co-operation and enhance sharing of experience and learning within the justice sector. The 2024 roundtable event is scheduled for late September.

In addition, my officials meet regularly with the heads of agencies/bodies under my remit including the Private Security Authority. These meetings are in accordance with the formal governance arrangements set out with each body, keeping me abreast of relevant issues and developments.
