The person concerned is currently in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance at a rate of 178.00 euro per week which was awarded on the 24/07/2023

The person concerned applied for Jobseekers Benefit for 65 year old's on 28th of November 2023. This claim was disallowed on the grounds that the person concerned does not meet the specific contributions conditions as set out in legislation to qualify for Jobseekers Benefit for 65 year old's.

The person concerned appealed this decision to the Social Welfare Appeals Office and this decision was upheld.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
