To ask the Minister for Health the nature of and current situation with regard to the European Commission’s announcement of 16 October 2014 that it was sending Ireland a letter of formal notice (INFR(2014)4131) in respect of the working time of social care workers under the responsibility of the Health Service Executive; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
