To ask the Minister for Health if a HSE worker who is currently employed at the grade of general dental surgeon: 1597, is eligible to run for local election; if there is a list of specific grades which are ‘designated by order of the Minister for Health and Children’; if so, to outline what they are; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Neither myself nor any of my predecessors in the role of Minister for Health (and previously Minister for Health and Children) have made any orders designating any grade of public health sector staff ineligible to run for local election, in the context of the Local Government Act 2001.
