To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform his plans to expand on the schedule of prescribed bodies in the Freedom of Information Act 2014 (details supplied); and if he has consulted the Data Protection Commissioner in this regard and-or his ministerial and departmental colleagues. At present there are no plans to make an order under section 7 of the Freedom of Information Act in respect of any organisation.
However, a comprehensive review of the Freedom of Information Act has been undertaken. Among the themes identified as requiring examination in the consultation process were the mechanisms for designating a body as one to which FOI applies. This issue is being considered in the context of preparation of the review report.
