To ask the Minister for Health to provide an update on the promised compensation scheme for people who had adverse reactions to Covid 19 vaccines; the reason the scoping of such a scheme is taking so long; the timescale for the completion of this exercise; when he expects to be in a position to announce details of the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Work is ongoing to design a proposed model for a vaccine damage scheme and officials in my department are working through related policy matters. The development of such a model needs detailed consideration to ensure that it is appropriately designed to meet the needs of all stakeholders. Once the model is developed I will bring it to Cabinet for approval.
