As at 18 February 2024, there are almost 27,500 International Protection (IP) applicant’s accommodated in the International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) accommodation system as a whole.

The average cost of accommodating an IP applicant in IPAS accommodation is currently €76.80 per night.

Contractual arrangements for the IPAS accommodation centres are deemed confidential and commercially sensitive.

It would not serve the public interest to divulge the value of contracts for services, as it could prejudice the Department's negotiating position to deliver value for money with respect to other accommodation providers and locations.
