170. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of buses, coaches and HGVs that were inspected by Road Safety Authority in 2023; the number of those vehicles that were inspected that were found with major or dangerous defects in 2023, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Road Safety Authority is the body with statutory responsibility for the enforcement of commercial vehicle roadworthiness legislation. I have therefore referred the Deputy’s question to the Authority for direct reply.

I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
