To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment what, if any, additional funding has been provided to increase grid capacity and-or to prepare the grid for renewable energy projects; if there are plans to increase this; what, if any, requests for additional funding have been made to Government; and if he will make a statement on the matter. EirGrid are an independent commercial semi state company. Matters of funding are the responsibility of the Board of Management and not one in which the Minister or the Department has any function.
