To ask the Minister for Health the steps he is taking to ensure that alcohol price reductions on the basis of a customer having a supermarket loyalty card are not in breach of the Public Health Act (Alcohol) 2018; the engagements he has had with supermarkets on this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Environmental Health Service of the HSE is responsible for the enforcement of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act. The EHS provides ongoing feedback on compliance with and enforcement of the provisions of the Act including those relating to price promotions. Ongoing consideration is being given to all such matters.
