288. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the amount his Department spent in 2021, 2022 and up to 27 November 2023 on advertisements with a website (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [53062/23]

The Department of Transport has utilised advertising on Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and X (formerly Twitter) to support information and communication campaigns.

The Department has not placed paid advertisements on X since early 2023. The Department keeps all forms of communication to the public, including social media advertising, under consistent review in order to maximise effectiveness.

The Department’s social media policy is published online here.

Expenditure across Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and X (Twitter) from 2021 – 2023 YTD was as follows:
