677. I established the Housing Commission in December 2021 as an independent body to examine and evaluate Ireland's housing system. This included tasking the Commission to advise the Government on the critical factors to be considered regarding a referendum on housing and, if appropriate, recommend appropriate wording for a constitutional change.
The Housing Commission has recently submitted its report and recommendations. The report and next steps are currently being considered and I will bring these to Government in due course.
In the meantime, it would be inappropriate to comment on the substance of the report or the next steps.
