520. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills an bhfuil i gceist aici an deontas Gaeilge agus dátheangachais a íoctar le meánscoileanna lán-Ghaeilge a leathnú amach do scoileanna ETB atá ag múineadh trí Ghaeilge; an fáth nach raibh an deontas sin ar fáil go dtí seo; agus an ndéanfaidh sí ráiteas ina thaobh. Tá múnlaí éagsúla maoinithe ag mo Roinn chun freastal ar riachtanais na gcineálacha éagsúla iar-bhunscoile. San earnáil BOO (ETB), déantar leithdháiltí airgeadais ar BOOanna mar chuid de bhlocdheontas. Tugtar ardleibhéal neamhspleáchais do na BOOanna maidir le bainistiú agus leithreasú an deontais seo agus ceadaítear do gach BOO a leithdháiltí a dháileadh de réir a thosaíochtaí agus a riachtanais féin. Tá difríocht idir seo agus na deontais chaipitíochta a chuirtear ar fáil do mheánscoileanna deonacha.

Tá obair ar fhorbairt Polasaí nua don Oideachas lán-Ghaeilge lasmuigh den Ghaeltacht ar siúl anois i mo Roinnse.

Reáchtáladh próiseas leathan comhairliúcháin phoiblí chun tuairimí na bpáirtithe leasmhara a bhailiú, lena n-áirítear daoine óga, tuismitheoirí, gairmithe oideachais, páirtithe leasmhara oideachais agus eagraíochtaí Gaeilge. Breathnófar ar na saincheisteanna a ardaíodh sa chomhairliúchán sin mar chuid den obair ar fhorbairt an Pholasaí don Ghaeloideachas lasmuigh den Ghaeltacht.

My Department has different models of funding to meet the needs of the different types of post-primary school. In the ETB sector, financial allocations are made to ETBs as part of a block grant. ETBs are given a high level of autonomy in the management and appropriation of this grant and each is allowed to distribute its allocations in line with its own priorities and needs. This differs from the capitation grants provided to voluntary secondary schools.

Work on the development of a new policy on Irish-medium education outside of the Gaeltacht is now underway in my Department.

An extensive public consultation process has been conducted to gather the views of stakeholders, including young people, parents, education professionals, education stakeholders and Irish-language organisations. The issues raised in that consultation will be considered as part of the work on the development of the Policy on Irish-medium Education outside of the Gaeltacht.
