682. To ask the Minister for Health the reason a representative organisation (details supplied) was not consulted about the development of the National Endometriosis Framework; if he intends to meet this organisation to discuss the framework; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I recognise that endometriosis is a significant health issue for women in Ireland today, and work is underway to improve services in this area. In that regard, the HSE’s National Women & Infants Programme (NWIHP) has commenced the development of a National Endometriosis Framework, which will be rolled out in a phased basis and published in 2023. This Framework will identify how care for women in this area needs to be delivered, with this care spanning primary care to local hospital care to specialist complex care. It should be noted that this Framework was developed in conjunction with endometriosis specialists and gynaecologists.

The process around the development of the National Endometriosis Framework is a matter for NWIHP, and, as such, I have asked the HSE to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
