To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade when a passport application will be finalised for a child (details supplied) in view of the fact that the original application was made in October 2021; the reason that the parent of this child was notified that the original consent form was not acceptable given that the Garda had not recorded the information in the log book, which is incorrect, as confirmed by the Garda station to the parent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. With regard to the specific applications about which the Deputies have enquired, the Passport Service has provided an update as to the steps they must take to progress their passport application.
