Department of Housing, Planning, and Local Government
99. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government when he intends to increase the income limits for eligibility for local authority housing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3276/22]
127. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government when the income eligibility limits for social housing will be increased for areas such as counties Cavan and Monaghan given that present limits are unrealistic; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3337/22]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 99, 122 and 127 together.
Housing for All – A New Housing Plan for Ireland was published in September 2021 and, as part of a broad suite of social housing reforms, committed to reviewing income eligibility for social housing.
The review, which examined inter aliathe efficiency of the current banding model and income limits applicable to local authorities, was completed in Q4, 2021. I expect to make a decision on proposed changes and recommendations shortly.
