299. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if she has received the submission by a company (details supplied) to the Tourism Taskforce; if a tourism online voucher system will be introduced that would enable tourism providers to commission promotional videos to market their product; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I received the Recovery Plan prepared by the Tourism Recovery Taskforce in September 2020. In drawing up its report, the Taskforce held a public consultation to inform its work and received over 800 submissions, including a submission from the company referred to by the Deputy.

My Department’s role in relation to tourism lies primarily in the area of national tourism policy development and implementation of that policy is a matter for the tourism agencies. Consideration of  operational proposals such as that referred to by the Deputy is a matter for Fáilte Ireland. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's question to them for further information and direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
