547. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the role of his Department in preventing trafficking in human beings, prosecuting human traffickers and protecting victims of human trafficking; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [51720/19]

Primary responsibility for the prevention of human trafficking, the prosecution of those involved in same and the protection of victims rests with An Garda Síochána.
As such, this is a matter for the Department of Justice and Equality.
