445. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason meat factories are not honouring commitment given in September 2019 to set-aside injunctions and threats of legal penalties and costs in view of the fact it appears that nothing has been done by the meat factories to lift these threats; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As part of the Beef Sector Agreement of 15th September, Meat Industry Ireland (MII), representing meat processors, committed that its members would withdraw existing legal proceedings against farmers once the pickets were stood down.
I have received confirmation from MII that all of the relevant injunctions instigated by their members have been, or are in the process of being, withdrawn.
