243. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of emergency medical missions not related to incidents at sea that have been carried out by each Irish Coast Guard helicopter unit in the past three years. [41494/19]

Coast Guard helicopter emergency medical support missions are provided on a request basis to the HSE/National Ambulance Service. These services coordinated by the Coast Guard are flown under Commercial Aviation Transport rules and include inter hospital transfers. Coast Guard helicopters also provides day and nightemergency aeromedical services to the island communities.
