167. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the steps she will take to ensure that an application for the addition of a qualified adult dependant is included in the disability allowance claim of a person (details supplied) in view of the fact the application was submitted nine weeks ago; if it will be processed without delay; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I confirm that an increase for qualified adult (IQA) application was received from this gentleman by the disability allowance (DA) section on 6 June 2019.
The application has been referred to a social welfare inspector (SWI) for a report on the person’s means and circumstances. Once the SWI has submitted her report to the DA section, a decision will be made on the application and this gentleman will be notified directly of the outcome.
I trust this clarifies the matter for the deputy.
