98. To ask the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the reason no mutual recognition agreements with other countries on occupational first aid have been agreed to date; and her plans to address this in the future. [47654/17]

The main reason that there are no mutual recognition agreements on occupational first aid qualifications with other Countries is that no request to enter into such an agreement has been received from another Country to date.

A request to enter into a mutual recognition agreement from another Country would require an assurance that the occupational first-aid training standard provided in that country is equivalent to current recognised occupational first aid standards in Ireland.

Any queries in this regard should be referred to the Health and Safety Authority in the first instance.
