243. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the position regarding Government plans as per the confidence and supply arrangement to introduce an affordable housing scheme; the timeframe for such plans; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [40005/17]

As I have previously signalled, the issue of housing affordability is being examined by my Department, in consultation with local authorities and the Housing Agency, in the context of the review of Rebuilding Ireland.
I expect this work to be concluded in the coming weeks and I will be considering the potential role of new initiatives in relation to affordable housing.
