497. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government his views on allegations detailed to him by a person (details supplied) alleging breaches of planning regulations; his plans to address the allegations; if he has satisfied himself that his Department and the county council have responded adequately to the allegations raised by the person; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has been actively engaged in addressing allegations made by the individual referenced. Senior Counsel has been appointed on a non-statutory basis to conduct an independent review in relation to certain allegations made regarding planning in Donegal and I understand that the individual concerned has met with Senior Counsel to discuss his allegations.
I understand that Senior Counsel expects to complete his independent review by mid June 2017. Once I have received his report, I will carefully consider the contents and any recommendations made in order to determine what further actions may be necessary.
