Bord na gCon is a commercial State body, established under the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958, chiefly to control greyhound racing and to improve and develop the greyhound industry.
Matters relating to the operation of a particular stadium are operational matters for that organisation. Bord na gCon has informed me that the agreement between Bord na gCon and SIS involving Mullingar Greyhound Stadium is considered commercially sensitive.
I understand that in order to support the race schedule in Mullingar, Bord na gCon provided prize money grant assistance of €342,881.25 in 2016 which accounted for 1083 races over 107 meetings.
