The improvement and maintenance of regional and local roads in Tipperary (including Ardfinnan Bridge on the R665) is the statutory responsibility of Tipperary County Council, in accordance with the provisions of Section 13 of the Roads Act 1993. Works on those roads are funded from the Council's own resources supplemented by State road grants.  The initial selection and prioritisation of works to be funded is also a matter for the local authority. An application for grant assistance has been received from Tipperary County Council in relation to remedial works on Ardfinnan Bridge in 2017.  This application is under consideration in the context of the overall 2017 grant allocations and no decision has been made as yet. I expect to announce the grant allocations for 2017 early next year.
