To ask the Minister for Finance the extent to which he is aware of compensation payments that have been made by the motor fuel industry to motor insurance companies as compensation for insurance payouts to drivers who have been victims of contaminated fuel such as stretched petrol or laundered diesel; the impact of any such payments on fuel prices and insurance premiums; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no information on the issue raised in the question by the Deputy. It appears to be a matter concerning companies in the oil industry and in the motor insurance industry.
