Departmental Schemes

To ask the Minister for Social Protection if she will provide a list of each of the current grant schemes that are administrated by her Department and that are available to community groups or projects; the total amount paid for each of these schemes for each of the past four years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department funds and operates a number of scheme and programmes in partnership with community groups to support a) activation services to the longer term unemployed, b) income supports, and c) the delivery of local services of a social inclusion nature. The schemes and programmes are set out in the following table. Given the nature of the schemes, the level of resources available vary according to the nature of the services provided and the number of jobseekers/other that are engaged as participants and/or employees.

The Deputy should note that JobBridge (the national internship scheme), and JobsPlus (a wage subsidy scheme for employers) are also accessible by community groups to support their work.
