260. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills further to Parliamentary Question No. 302 of 27 May 2014, if section 28 of the 1998 Education Act has been enacted and is in place; the timeframe in which his Department will introduce the charter referred to in that reply; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy will be aware that the education environment has changed since 1998. There are now a number of avenues for resolving grievances. Section 28 places no obligations on a school to have a broader policy on its relationship with parents and students. I intend to include an amendment to Section 28 of the Act as part of the final Admissions to Schools Bill which has recently been approved for drafting by Government.
