1Since my appointment as Minister for Transport on 20th January 2011 no appointments have been made to State Boards under the aegis of my Department. However, Mr. Daithí Alcorn was appointed as a new member of the Board of the National Transport Authority by my predecessor on 14 January 2011. The NTA was established on 1 December 2009. Appointments are made on the basis of appointees having the necessary skills, competencies and experience to contribute effectively to the work of the boards. Mr Alcorn is a full time Public Representative. He will be paid a fee of €11,970 per annum.
