Question 197: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the number of persons who are tenants of local authorities in local authority owned homes and the total value of rents collected by local authorities. [44603/10]

The most up to date figures available show that at end December 2008 there were 118,396 dwellings let by housing authorities to social housing tenants. The average weekly rent for those tenants for that year was â¬46.85 and the total value of rents collected by housing authorities was â¬300,935,240.
