Question 27: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties confronting the owners of fishing vessels in the 15 metre to 18 metre category which do not comply with the new safety regulations; if he will arrange to introduce a decommissioning arrangement for such vessels; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Matters concerning maritime safety, including in respect of sea fishing vessels, is a matter for the Minister for Transport. I have no function in relation to the matter. I have no plans for a further decommissioning scheme at present.
