Question 600: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills if the years spent teaching in Youthreach can be taken into account for incremental credit in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [28193/10]

The scheme for the award of incremental credit to recognised teachers in second level schools was agreed under the auspices of the Teachers' Conciliation Council, a body established in accordance with the terms of the Conciliation and Arbitration Scheme for Teachers. The scheme is currently set out in consolidated format in Department Circular 29/2007.
The person referred to by the Deputy is employed by County Mayo Vocational Education Committee. My Department has been in contact with County Mayo VEC with a view to expediting the matter. A decision will issue directly to the individual concerned from County Mayo VEC.
