Question 192: To ask the Minister for Defence the average time, as of the end of April 2009, for payments to be made by his Department and each individual agency of his Department to outside businesses in respect of goods and services received; and if he will make a statement on the matter. All payments for supplies of goods and services to my Department, the Defence Forces and agencies under the remit of my Department are paid centrally by the Finance Branch of my Department based in Renmore in Galway. In the year to the end of April 2009, the average time taken for payment to suppliers was 6.5 days from the receipt of an invoice.
