The programme of replacement and refurbishment of Garda accommodation around the country is based on agreed priorities established by An Garda SÃochána in consultation with the Garda representative associations. The programme is progressed by the Garda authorities working in close cooperation with the Office of Public Works, which has responsibility for the provision and maintenance of Garda accommodation.
I am informed that the Office of Public Works has completed the planning process for a temporary facility for An Garda SÃochána at Blarney and it is expected that this facility will be operational in the coming weeks. Plans to refurbish the permanent station building are being examined.
