My Department made funding of â¬1.9 million available to the Heritage Council in 2008, under the built heritage capital programme, for the significant places of public worship scheme. The Council is responsible for the administration of this scheme which includes any call for applications, assessment of applications received and awarding of grants.
Allocations for the various programmes and schemes under the 2009 built heritage capital programme will be made in the context of the Department's overall financial and budgetary position.
