Question 177: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the funding available in 2008 for the special housing aid scheme; the funding allocated in 2007; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25158/08]

The Special Housing Aid for the Elderly Scheme is currently administered by a Task Force under the aegis of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and operated at a local level by the Health Service Executive. A total of â¬19.132 million was allocated in 2007 and an initial allocation of â¬13 million has been made available in 2008 to the Health Service Executive for the operation of the scheme nationally.
