Question 171: To ask the Minister for Finance the person who is responsible for translation of signs such as An tOileán Naofa for Holy Island on signage indicating the monastic settlement of Iniscealtra situated on Lough Derg on the River Shannon; the location where that translation came from; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Built Heritage Services of the Office of Public Works refer to a panel of translators for publications, exhibitions and signage. It is investigating the specific example referred to regarding Iniscealtra/Holy Island.
