Question 796: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if she will confirm that she has received the strategy document for the development of second level education from the Association of Secondary Teachers of Ireland, which provides the basic blueprint for the enhancement of second level education here; if she will give consideration to its implementation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 773 and 796 together.
I can confirm that I have received the ASTI strategy document referred to by the Deputy.
In relation to second level education it is my intention to prioritise the commitments in the Programme for Government 2007-2012 for delivery over the lifetime of this Government, having regard to available funding, and I will consider the proposals in the ASTI strategy document in that context.
