A Sketch Scheme for the new station will be forwarded to An Garda SÃochána for approval by the end of this year. The planning process under Part 9 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) will then follow on receipt of this approval. It is hoped that work on the new Garda Station will commence in early 2008.
It is planned to build a new Garda Station in Limerick City to replace Henry Street, Garda Station. A suitable site is being sought for this purpose. There is an ongoing programme of refurbishing Garda Stations nationwide.
