Question 206: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the progress her Department has made in implementing the recommendations in the Pollock Report and in particular the number of isolation rooms available for cystic fibrosis; her plans to provide more in the near future; the number of specialised nurses the Health Service Executive has employed taking into account the Pollock Report recommendations; her further plans to provide specialised home care staff and assistance for cystic fibrosis patients; if the extra funds allocated in 2006 and 2007 of approximately â¬7 million have been used for the purpose they were allocated to; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Operational responsibility for the management and delivery of health and personal social services is a matter for the Health Service Executive and funding for all health services has been provided as part of its overall Vote. Therefore, the Executive is the appropriate body to consider the particular issue raised by the Deputy. My Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
