Question 580: To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if he will report on gender balance at each grade in his Department and in agencies that come under the aegis of his Department. [9850/07]

Information on the current gender balance at each grade in my Department (including Offices). The Offices of the Department are (i) Labour Relations Commission; (ii) Labour Court; (iii) Employment Appeals Tribunal; (iv) Office of the Director of Consumer Affairs; (v) Patents Office; (vi) Companies Registration Office; (v) Office of the Registrar of Friendly Societies; (vi) Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement.

The Agencies under the aegis of the D/ETE are (i) Forfás; (ii) Enterprise Ireland; (iii) IDA Ireland; (iv) National Standards Authority of Ireland; (v) Science Foundation Ireland; (vi) Shannon Free Airport Development Company; (vii) Crafts Council of Ireland; (viii) Intertrade Ireland; (ix) Personal Injuries Assessment Board; (x) Health and Safety Authority; (xi) Competition Authority; (xii) Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (xiii) National Competitiveness Council; (xiv) Fas; (xv) County City and Enterprise Boards under the aegis of my Department is given in the tables.

(xiii) National Competitiveness Council

The NCC was established by the Government in May 1997 as part of the Partnership 2000 Agreement. As per the NCC's Terms of Reference, Forfás, the national policy and advisory board for enterprise, trade, science, technology and innovation, provides the Council's secretariat. The gender balance of staff of Forfás is given above.

(xv) County and City Enterprise Boards

The number, pay and conditions of the staff of the thirty-five County and City Enterprise Boards (CEBs) is determined by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment with the consent of the Minister for Finance. However staff of the Boards are recruited directly by the individual Boards and the Department does not ordinarily collect individual Personnel records in respect of staff of the Boards and does not ordinarily seek information on the gender balance of staff within Boards.
