The CLÃR Programme is a targeted investment programme for rural areas that have suffered more than a 35% drop in population between 1926 and 2002. The Programme now covers parts of 22 counties and all of Co. Leitrim and benefits a population of nearly 727,000. Since I introduced the Programme in 2002, it has been reviewed and extended twice, most recently in April 2006.
I set out in the following table for the Deputy's information the list of Electoral Divisions in Limerick that are now covered by the Programme. I have no plans at present for any further review of CLÃR.
