The average price of agricultural land in 1999 was â¬11,264 per hectare. The latest year for which figures are currently available is 2004, when the average price of agricultural land was â¬16,261 per hectare. This was an increase of â¬4,997 per hectare or 44.4% over the five year period. These figure exclude transactions involving small areas of land (i.e. under 2 hectares) and sales where the price was below â¬500 or above â¬35,000 per hectare.
