Question 333: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his Department has received requests from Kildare County Council for special funding towards the cost of providing sheep grids on all public access roads to the Curragh plains; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The improvement and maintenance of non-national roads in its area is a statutory function of each road authority in accordance with the provisions of section 13 of the Roads Act 1993. My Department has not received any request from Kildare County Council for funding towards the provision of sheep grids on non-national roads.
