An application for temporary accommodation was received from the authorities of the school referred to by the Deputy. All applications for temporary accommodation were considered by the school planning section of my Department in the context of the available funding for 2005, and the number of applications for that funding. Unfortunately, it was not possible to approve all applications received, and only those with an absolute and demonstrated need for additional accommodation were approved.

My Department has received an application for additional accommodation from the school authorities of St. Brendan's college, Woodbrook, Bray. The project is currently being assessed in accordance with the published prioritisation criteria for large scale building projects which were revised last year following consultation with the education partners. Under this review, all projects are assigned a band rating and the progress of individual projects is being considered in the context of the school building programme from 2005 onwards.
