Question 488: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the number of applications for resource teaching hours that remained undecided by her Department on the date of the handover of responsibility to the National Council for Special Education; when she expects these applications to be addressed and decided; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A total of 374 applications for resource teacher support for pupils with lower-incidence special educational needs remained undecided by my Department at the time of the handover of responsibility to the National Council for Special Education. These have since been decided and responses issued to the schools concerned on 4 February 2005.
