Question 233: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the number of job losses experienced in 2004 to date in the Donegal Gaeltacht; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22901/04]

I understand from Ãdarás na Gaeltachta that the information sought by the Deputy will not be readily available until end 2004.
The job situation in the Donegal Gaeltacht for 2004 will be established by Ãdarás na Gaeltachta through its annual employment survey in client businesses at year-end. The results of this survey will be published by Ãdarás by end January 2005. Ãdarás has, however, indicated that it is hopeful that there will be a net gain in employment in the Donegal Gaeltacht this year.
